Clean Facility. Helpful staff and great nurses/technicians. They have an adoption section for kittens/cats that visitors are welcome to see.

I’ve been going to Hudson Highlands for over 25 + years . They are the best !!!! From the front desk to all of the Vets To all of the technicians. Thank you for everything. Fondly , Steph & tony

I love that the staff greets you as though you were part of their own lives and that the appointments were ON TIME! Everyone cared about my dog and within seconds the Vet Tech had passed the "I Love You " test with Cooper.

The entire experience was so positive, from the wonderful sisterhood at the front desk to the after care of Cooper, that it resonated with my own conviction of what health care should be. It would be a perfect template for every health provider.

Dr Paul McNamara did surgery on my puppy. Although the surgery itself went fine, everything else was highly upsetting. He (and his staff who take direction from him) were irritated and impatient with my questions. They kept saying "these questions were already covered in the consult". I don't think it's unreasonable for an owner to ask the same question a few times. I am not a vet and the information was new to me and fairly upsetting. I expect to be treated respectfully and patiently even if it takes a few times for me to fully understand the facts.

For Cooper and I, and for many other pet owners, we are given the gift of profound kindness and respect. It doesn't get better than that.

Doctor Martinisi is great! She is wonderful with pets along with being a brilliant clinician.

I found this doctor to be nasty and even threatening. And even though I had to spend more money to do it, I finally I decided to take my puppy to a different vet who could help me better understand what lay ahead for us. I went to Hurley Animal Hospital and saw Dr. Gunzberg who is also an orthopedic surgeon. I was handled kindly, patiently, and with as much or more expertise. I felt like he cared about my dog and also about me. And I got lots of guidance about long term prospects and care. He and his staff were cheerful and helpful.

I write this review to help others avoid what happened to me. When your dog needs/has surgery you are in a highly vulnerable and confused state. You need professionals who are happy to answer your questions no matter how many times they are asked. Go to a doctor who will patiently guide you through the process and educate you so you can make the best decisions for your animal. I can tell you for certain that Dr. Paul McNamara is not that doctor. He is a bully - not a caregiver.

Cooper, my mostly Saint Bernard Rescue dog and I went to Hudson Highlands for surgery on his torn ACL, broken knee. When I called to make the appointment, I expressed my wish to be with him until he fell asleep for the operation. this was not the norm but they understood and allowed this small concession to dog motherhood.

Further, I got no guidance about post operative rehabilitation or long term care. I was told what to do for the following 4 weeks and that was it. I was not educated so I could make good decisions - I was ordered to follow instructions without any understanding. I found that difficult.

If I had been impressed with the fabulous staff, I was about to be blown away by Dr. Paul McNamara who walked in to greet us. Here, too, the first one to be greeted and and adored was Cooper. I patiently waited my turn as I was already half in love with him just because of his attitude towards Cooper. Dr. Paul is impressive to say the least. It doesn't hurt that he is handsome, but he took time to explain everything to me without treating me like an idiot because I was not familiar with vet terminology. I was shown the entire facility that ranks right up there with the best people hospitals!
